“CAMP celebrates Minister Champagne and the staff of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada on their launch of an open consultation on Canada’s Competition Act. In September CAMP sent a letter to Minister Champagne requesting that any consultation on Canada’s competition law be open to all Canadians, encompass all aspects of the law, and prioritize reaching a broad cross-section of Canadians. At face value, this consultation makes good on each of these requests.

The consequences of Canada’s competition law are felt by all Canadians, all the more important as Canadians continue to be squeezed by the cost of living increases borne over the past year. We look forward to the exchange of views and perspectives that we hope forms the foundation of a Competition Act that supports a free, fair, and democratic economy.”
