Skydance-owned Paramount has completed its $81 billion US takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, further concentrating an already consolidated entertainment industry. CAMP Executive Director Keldon Bester told CBC the merger could mean fewer films, greater reliance on blockbuster productions and tougher competition for Canadian production work as the combined company looks to cut costs.
